Winter in the Garden

Wintry seasonal weather is not all about slippery mud, chilly fingers and soggy feet. At this time of year, frosts and snowy dustings can transform your garden into a new landscape. It is also a good time to see the bare structural bones laid bare, new vistas opening up due to leaf fall, and to start planning for the new year.

Once the soil is no longer waterlogged and is workable, it is the time to start putting the new plans into effect. But until then, just enjoy the fresh face winter puts on the garden and think ahead to what lies ahead in early Spring.
